Rantya High Schools trip to Egypt
On 26th October 2010, some students from Rantya high school. Were taken to Kano International Airport, taking a flight from Kano – Cairo in Egypt. With just 270,000naira, the students were taken to Egypt.
The drive from Jos –Kano was about 4 hours (including hold up) and funny enough all the participants were hostel students. Around 7:00 in the evening we reached kano, and we went to Alliance Française Kano, by 10:25p.m we went to the airport and by 11:57p.m we left Nigeria for Egypt. Our travel agency “first travels” already got our luggage we got to Cairo around 3:46a.m and drove to our first hotel “Victoria Hotel Cairo” we then slept all through till 12:30p.m.
Our first guide escorted us to the “Pyramids of Gaza" were we some great Egyptian pharaohs were buried, their tombs might have been raided by tomb raiders (sue Lara croft) but the sarcophaguses were beautiful, the Egyptian had incredible architectural skill, because those pyramids were accurate, the hieroglyphics were a little blurry but the main stories were visible.
After the pyramids of Gaza we went to the Egyptian National Museum, there we saw the pharaohs, their, sarcophaguses their dresses, the jewelry, their costumes and spiritual items. the very famous king Ramsese iv that brought together upper and lower Egypt ,the queen hatsepsut who acted as a king ,famous Cleopatra ,Tuthmoses iv,v,vi,vii, the various statues of gods Rah, Osiris, Amun, Nabeh, the Nile god, Nerfatari and many other gods. we also saw the various items of mummification, the processes inscribed on the tomb walls and stone tablets in hieroglyphics.
After a fling morning and a hiking afternoon (looking can be tiring) we relaxed and had munch at Mc-Donald’s and then relaxed the whole day (that we had left)…we trekked out that evening to a souvenir shop to buy ‘Labne’ and glass balls .we walked our shoes off and almost got lost in the suburban streets of Cairo. We spent two more days site seeing the temples of Rah ,Amun, and Osiris.after Cairo we took a sleeping train to luxour were we entered the tombs of the kings “kings valley” and Philae temple and Kom-omboh temple, valley of the queens Cleopatra and Nerfartiti, Upper and Lower Egypt are symbolized by a lotus and a papyrus plant respectively ,the cobra for upper Egypt and the vulture for lower Egypt .
Then off we went to Aswan (Upper Egypt) the sinking temples the un finished obelisk, official tombs of engineer s (Imhotep) then to port-said to see the French colonial island of Port Fouad, the Suez Canal and the delta.
It was a fun trip THANK YOU RANTYA!!!!

Wow!! That was just last week Friday, our junior male football team had a wonderful play against Mount Tabor private school, giving them a nice winning, 4 goals to nothing. Some good jokes from tha rantya jokers
When returning to her car she found that she had locked herkeys in the car. She was in a hurry to get home to her sick daughter.
She didn't know what to do, so she called her home and told the baby sitter what had happened and that she did not know what to do. The baby sitter told her that her daughter was getting worse.
She said, "You might find a coat hanger and use that to open the door."
The woman looked around and found an old rusty coat hanger that had been thrown down on the ground, possibly by someone else who at some time or other had locked their keys in their car.
Then she looked at the hanger and said, "I don't know how to use this."
So she bowed her head and asked God to send her some help. Within five minutes an old rusty car pulled up, with a dirty, greasy, bearded man who was wearing an old biker skull rag on his head.
The woman thought, "This is what you sent to help me?" But, she was desperate, so she was also very thankful.
The man got out of his car and asked her if he could help. She said, "Yes, my daughter is very sick. I stopped to get her some medication and I locked my keys in my car. I must get home to her. Please, can you use this hanger to unlock my car?"
He said, "Sure". He walked over to the car, and in less than one minute the car was opened.
She hugged the man and through her tears she said, "Thank you so much! You are a very nice man."
The man replied, "Lady, I am not a nice man. I just got out of prison today. I was in prison for car theft and have only been out for about an hour."
The woman hugged the man again and with sobbing tears cried out loud, "Oh, Thanks God!
You even sent me a Professional!"
The next question, intended for people who had answered in the affirmative to the previous question, was "Why?"
The applicant answered it anyway: "Never got caught."
"Lasagna," the first replied. The warden served him his lasagna, then escorted him to his execution.
"I'd like lobster," the second prisoner said. The warden served him his lobster, then led him to his execution.
The third prisoner said, "I'd like a big bowl of strawberries, topped with whipped cream."
"Sorry, but strawberries are out of season," the warden said.
"Ah, that's ok. I'll wait!" replied the prisoner
her voice was little more than a hoarse whisper. "Bill darling," she breathed. "I've got a confession to make before I go... I ... I'm the one who took the $10,000 from your safe in the house ... I spent it on a fling with your best friend Jimmy. And it was I who forced your mistress to leave the community in utter disgrace. I'm afraid I also was the one who reported you to the IRS for income tax evasion..."
"That's all right dearest; don't even give it a second thought." said Bill. "I have a small confession too. I'm the one who poisoned you."
A week later, they received in the mail two tickets for a popular show where tickets were impossible to get. They were very excited and warmed by the gesture of the person who sent this. Inside the envelope, however, was only a small piece of paper with a single line, "From...guess who?"
The pair had much fun trying to identify the donor, but failed in the effort. They went to the theatre, and had a wonderful time. On their return home late at night, still trying to guess the identity of the unknown host, they found the house stripped of every article of value. And on the bare table in the dining room was a piece of paper on which was written in the same hand as the enclosure with the tickets:
"Now you know!"
